Originally, Give U My Heart was one of four songs written for Anita Baker for the Boomerang Soundtrack with Toni Braxton laying down vocals during the demo sessions to Baker. However, Baker wasn’t satisfied with the songs and proposed to Reid that Braxton be the one to sing on the tracks. And just like that, the world was introduced to Ms. Toni Braxton who would go on to start a successful creative partnership with Babyface releasing hit singles like Another Sad Song and Breathe Again.
Give U My Heart did well commercially reaching No. 29 on the Billboard Hot 100 and No.2 on the Billboard Hot R&B Singles chart, falling just behind End of The Road by Boyz II Men which was another track from the same Soundtrack.
