"I Wanna Love Like That" is the lead single released in 1995 by Tony Thompson from his debut album Sexsational.
Thompson was a founding member of the R&B group Hi-Five which experiencing great success in the early 90s from their debut album of the same name. Hits like “I Just Can't Handle It”, “I Can’t Wait Another Minute” and their biggest hit to date, “I Like The Way (The Kissing Game)” dominated the charts on its release and that’s no surprise since the platinum album was produced by non-other than Mr. Teddy Riley.
The group released 3 albums and a Greatest Hit before disbanding in 1994 which led to Thompson pursuing a solo career the following year. Two singles were released from his only album with “I Wanna Love Like That” scoring moderate success on the US Billboard Hot 100 Chart peaking inside the Top 60.
With no further music release under his name, Thompson would go on to a three-year stint with Bad Boy Records between 1997-2000 and then forming his own record label N’Depth where he re-incarnated Hi-Five with four new members releasing 2 more albums in 2004 and 2005. Legal actions would later follow Thompson from the original members of Hi-Five over the ownership of the Hi-Five name which was not dismissed until two years after his untimely death in 2007.
