“Ring Ring Ring (Ha Ha Hey)” is a song by American Hip Hop trio De La Soul released in 1991 as the lead single to their 2nd Album De La Soul is Dead.
This song topped the charts in several European Countries including Finland and Switzerland where it reached #1 but was less successfully in the states where it only reached #22 on the Billboard Hot R&B / Hip Hop Songs chart.
De La Soul may not have been the most popular Hip Hop group at the time but this little gem certainly stood the test of time and is still a common reference today with that catchy lyric “Hey, how ya doin’ / sorry you can’t get through / why don’t you leave your name and your number / and I’ll get back to you”.
